According to Emma Hayes, female coaches do not have the same opportunities as their male counterparts.

According to Emma Hayes, female coaches do not have the same opportunities as their male counterparts.

While the WSL is densely populated with top English players, just two English women are in charge of top-flight sides this season.

Emma Hayes believes that women are frequently given less authority than men when it comes to coaching.

Although the manager of the US women's national team had a successful 12-season tenure at Chelsea, her longevity is still unusual in a league where female managers who are native to the country are becoming rare.

Even though there are many elite English players in the WSL, only two English women manage top-tier teams this season since all four summer positions were filled by foreign applicants.

Hayes stated, "I don't actually think it's just for the UK," to the PA news agency. I believe that, for whatever reason, women coaches who are fired from the top levels of competition don't seem to have the same opportunities as their male counterparts.

According to Hayes, potential coaches may be disqualified due to expense (McDonald's handout/PA).

As a result, if someone drops out, it's most often because they aren't getting those opportunities and because their job is extremely difficult.

"You might not get paid a lot of money, you might have childcare to manage, there's a lot more that goes into it, being a woman, that's never actually factored in."

When Laura Kaminski coaches newly promoted Crystal Palace versus Tottenham, she will be making her premier league coaching debut. Rehanne Skinner, the only other Englishwoman in charge of a WSL team, was previously the boss of West Ham.

The WSL and Championship will run under their own separate business, Women's Professional Leagues Ltd., for the first time this season.

"I think our teams will want the best managers, period," WPLL CEO Nikki Doucet responded when asked about intentions to cultivate more English coaching ability. Can the best managers also be local, is the question.

"And so I'd say we care about it, we think about it, and I think the FA cares about it and thinks about it as well, and that would be one of the things – as we've brought on a chief football officer – that as we think about that remit and what that role is, that 'development' would come under that, both for the talent pathway and also coaching."
