Jayden Stockley’s Brace Powers Port Vale to 4-1 Victory Over Nine-Man Newport

Vale were already 4-1 up before County’s Ciaran Brennan and Kyle Jameson were sent off.

Jayden Stockley’s double led Port Vale to a commanding 4-1 victory over Newport County, who finished the match with just nine players.

Port Vale, managed by Darren Moore, delivered a decisive performance, exposing Newport’s defensive vulnerabilities and ill-discipline at Rodney Parade. The win handed Newport’s new head coach, Nelson Jardim, his first home league defeat.

Stockley opened the scoring in the 6th minute with a close-range header from Benicio Baker-Boaitey's cross. Newport briefly leveled the match in the 24th minute when Aaron Wildig scored with a header from Anthony Glennon’s delivery.

Stockley regained the lead for Port Vale just before halftime, and the advantage was further extended with goals from Ethan Chislett and Lorent Tolaj before the hour mark. Newport’s frustration boiled over in the second half as Ciaran Brennan and Kyle Jameson were sent off—Brennan for a shove on Ben Garrity and Jameson for a second yellow card after kicking the ball into the away fans.
